I've been scrapping like a manic lately, but nothing I can share yet! Ack! That is the worst. There is nothing I like more than sharing my work online, except for getting it magazines. :) Anyway, my love/hate relationship with my work is still going strong. Today is a "love" day, so I'm doing alright.

Anyway, another funny story from the boy-yos. Last Monday we were going to see Grandpa and have family home evening with my family. We were driving in the car and Maxton kept looking for Grandpa. The way he says grandpa sounds remarkably like the way he says Spongebob--it comes out something like bampa. Well, Maxton saw a man and says, "Oh, der bampa" ("Oh, there's Grandpa). Xander pipes up, "No, that not Spongebob. Spongebob on TV."

A conversation on ouchies

Xander got an ouchie this afternoon. I was trying to take a nap and David was in the computer room. This is how the conversation went.

Xander: (Crying) Ouchie! I got a ouchie. Baby, come kiss it better.
Mom: (Glad she doesn't have to get up) Maxton, go give Xander kisses. He has an ouchie.
Maxton: (Goes into their bedroom)
Xander: Baby, I got ouchie right there. Kiss it better? . . .
Mom: Give Xander kisses Max.
Xander: Right there, I got ouchie on hand. . . . No, baby, no bite! Kiss, like this. (Smooching noises)
Maxton: Okay.
Xander: No, right there. Right there. . . . Good job, baby, you did it! Mommy, baby kiss it better!
Mom: Good job, Max, way to go!
Maxton: (Giggles)

Pregnancy photo

Here I am at 26 weeks. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

I'm cracking up at my boys today! Xander was watching Sesame Street this afternoon and when it was over, he was so sad. He loves Elmo's World and since that is the last thing, he said, "Elmo, wait! Come back! More." He was so sincere. He doesn't quite understand the way TV works yet.

This morning after they got out of the tub and after they'd been diapered but before clothes, Xander colored all over himself and Maxton with a green highlighter. Maxton was really mad when I put his shirt on, because he couldn't see the green marker anymore! He was pointing to his chest and saying, "Green??" I felt bad chuckling at him, but what was I supposed to do??

School and Paper Posies

So, I've decided to go to UVSC this fall and take some photography and design classes. If I love it, I will keep going there, but if not, I will start winter at BYU. I'm pretty excited about this, because I don't have to commit to one or the other without having ever taken a photography class. I won't lose any time either, because I can't start BYU until winter anyway. David is happy too, because we just have to muddle through another month until I start.

I've been having a blast creating stuff for the Paper Posies' DT. WOW, I'm so lucky to be a part of this! I wish I could show you what I've been doing, but you're just going to have to wait. I think I've finally found my mojo. Hopefully it will stick around for a while. I love what I've been doing lately, and that's refreshing after hating it for a while. I think I've stopped trying to work against my style, and embraced it. I have to admit that I wish I was a little funkier and a little more graphic, but I'm not, and I'm not happy with my pages that are too much that way. However, I'm learning to embrace white space and to not be afraid of being a touch more graphic, and that's a happy thing!

School dilemas

Another thing David and I have been talking a lot about lately is me going back to school. I was reading Harry Potter today (the 5th book in anticipation of reading the 6th soon) and hearing them talk about homework was making me wish I was back in school. I just don't know what to do.

I have 22 credits left at BYU-Idaho. I really don't think I'm going to be able to talk David into going back up there for a few semesters so that I can finish there, which would be my ideal solution. So, the other options I'm considering are going to BYU, taking 14 credits of English over again, plus starting and finishing a minor OR going to UVSC and getting a degree in photography, which would be about 50 credits or so. I could probably finish at BYU in three semesters if I crammed it in, but I couldn't start until winter. If I go to UVSC, I would finish in four semesters, but I could start this fall. This is important right now, because David needs to get another full-time job if I don't go to school. We actually make money in a way if I go, because we can defer my students loan payments, get grants and get more loans.

So, what do I want to do? No idea. I somehow can't give up my English major. I never had any doubts about what I was going to major in. I always knew that English was my passion and that I was dang good at it. I don't want to be a teacher, so my degree is basically insurance--I will have a degree to use if I ever need it. Photography scares me. I know that I'll probably be good at it, but there's so much to learn. I know practically nothing. The classes tend to be in larger blocks as well, which is not as good as far as my kiddles go. Much easier to be gone for shorter periods. But, photography is practial. Even if I never do it full time, it has the potential to be a nice side income that could get us through law school. And if something did happen to David, it would make a career that would be easier to fall back on. An English degree is not as practical. There's no ready-made career path. But I just can't seem to get over the hurdle of giving up English (by the way, I'd probably have a minor in English in I choose photography).

I just don't know. . .

4th Photos

We spent yesterday at my parents house. I don't think my children have ever played so hard! They had a blast. They discovered squirt guns, bubble machines, sprinklers and those little snappers. Maxton was so tired at the end of the day that he fell asleep on Grandma's lap during the fireworks. We had a great barbeque for dinner. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.

Doing the happy dance!

This layout was so much fun to do! David ran to the store last night and while he was gone, I worked on it. It was the first time in a while that I really felt the joy of creating! Hope it doesn't go away. I love how it turned out too.
