Family Photos

Yesterday we took some family photos. I just love this one of my three boys. I love how the two older ones are each holding one of Griffin's hands. I love how green the grass it. I love how Xander's arm is slung across Griffin's shoulder. But most of all, I just love it because I love them so much. Being a mom is all I hoped it would be. I can't tell you how much joy these little people bring me. They also push me to my limits. Sometimes I wonder how we'll ever raise them--most days I'd be happy if they'd just stop hitting each other and stepping on Griffin by accident while he's crawling. They also keep me roaring with laughter. I never expected them to be so quirky, to say and do such cute things. They also leave me shaking my head. For example, yesterday I actually had to mop THE WALL in our kitchen because it was so bad. Anyway, I should really go to class and stop rambling about motherhood. . . Posted by Picasa

I had the worst migraine yesterday

Ug, it was horrible. I woke up with a little bit of a headache, which is pretty normal for me, since I grind my teeth at night (I wear a mouthguard). I went to class and about half way through, I started feeling sick to my stomach. I somehow made it through class and by the time I got home, I was feeling horrible. I spent literally the rest of the day in bed. Usually when I have a migraine, I will sleep a little, then read (since watching TV or being on the computer will make it worse), but this one was so bad I couldn't even do that. I was bored of sleeping and in too much pain to do anything else. I told David I'd rather go through childbirth than that migraine. It was awful. I couldn't eat anything. All I had all day was a granola bar for breakfast, some saltines and some OJ, that OJ was a mistake. Finally around 5:00, I took a warm bath and that seemed to help. By 7:00, I was much better and could read a little. By 9:00, I made David get me some Arbys and we watched "That Thing You Do."

Today I'm feeling much better, but I also feel like I'm a day behind.

School starts again tomorrow

I'm so not ready. I've really enjoyed this little break. We'll see if I go back in fall. I'm sort of want to, but on the other hand, I really don't want to. However, I feel like the Lord is leading me (okay, more like kicking me) in that direction and I want to do what He wants me to do in all things, even if it is hard.

In other news, David had an interview with a great company yesterday. It's cracking me up, because it's Die Cuts With A View, a scrapbooking company. It would be similar work to what he was doing for Nortel, but with more pay. I'm hoping that this is going to happen. We've got the graphic design business all set up and actually may have our first client--we'll see though. We put an ad in the online yellow pages and everything. I really hope that this is a way for us to pay off some debt and not be so tight all the time.

We went camping this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the first time since Xander was a baby. We headed up to our family campground in Blacksmith Fork canyon in Cache Valley. The boys had so much fun they almost couldn't stand it. They loved everything: fishing with Grandpa, playing on the lawn, swinging on the swings, watching the fire, roasting hot dogs, finding bugs, watching the hummingbirds, getting dirty, sleeping in a tent, just about everything. I had a nice time too. We had to watch them so closely though, by the end of the weekend, I was beat. I'm not sure I'm quite over it yet. BUT, I think I've gotten over my fear of taking them camping, so we'll probably go a lot this summer.

Grandpa helping Maxton get his pole ready. The boys didn't call it "fishing," they called it "fishing pole." Hehe.

Xander fishing. He didn't want to stop.

Griffin hanging out by the tents. No one slept in the little tent. It was too small for two boys, so in they went with us.

Xander climbing a tree. He really can't be old enough to be climbing trees, can he??

My mom's cousin, Andrea, had me take photos of her little sweetie last week. They turned out just so cute! He's four months, which is a difficult age to photograph. I love being able to do this for family, although she did pay me, which was nice. I think I'm getting lots better with every photo shoot. Anyway, here are some of my faves.

We had such a fun weekend!

This entry is going to be full of random things. We've been so busy having fun this weekend, that I have a lot to tell you about. Last Friday, we had the most spectacular thunderstorm. It went on for hours. David and I both love thunderstorms. We watched a movie and then around 10:30 we went out to watch the lightening. I took my camera and after some fiddling and borrowing a tripod from our neighbors who were out there (the boys broke mine after much pretending that it was a microphone), I figured out how to take photos of lightening. This was the best one. By the time I figured it out, the lightening had moved south and also my angle wasn't wide enough. Makes me want to buy a fisheye lens. We also found out on Saturday that the Provo temple was hit! It knocked out the power in the temple for a while, but no major damage was done.

Then, on Saturday, we went to Orem's Summerfest. Totally fun. Xander has a thing for carnivals from playing a Dora game, so he was so excited! We ate food, walked the booths and rode the rides. David and Xander went on the Ferris wheel. It was David's and Xander's first time. Xander loved it! We also stayed for fireworks, but I was worn out from figuring out the lightening the night before and I just wanted to enjoy the show. So no photos.

Also, I have to tell a funny Maxton story. Last week, we were at my parents' house and I was complaining that I was tired. My dad starts laughing and tells me that Maxton said, "Mommy, if you're tired, then go to sleep." He's such a funny little guy. He's totally dead pan and hilarious!

And finally, links to more layouts. Lucky you. ;)

So, that's what $1000 worth of scrapbook supplies looks like!

Wow, I am just overwhelmed. My boxes from scrapbook.com arrived. HOLY MOLY! I could not believe how packed they were. It's crazy! I waited all day yesterday for UPS, then right after I left for class (David says it was like 30 seconds), they arrived! I called David on the road to tell him I cut someone off (never done that before, it was strange and I felt bad and needed to tell someone) and he said that it had come. Grr, right when I have to wait another two hours. Well, my class is cancelled (that's a whole other story, I will get to later), so I raced home, called Melissa and then tore into the boxes. Let me tell you that the pictures don't do it any justice. Seriously doesn't look that impressive in the photos, but when it's piled all around you--WOWZA! I don't know how I'm going to use it all. I shared some with Melissa and I'll share some with my mom and also donate some to a Primary activity and the rest will somehow be absorbed into my stash. Somehow. Right now, it's all in a box in my office/scraproom/Griffin's crib room. I keep having to walk around it. Not so convient. Especially in the middle of the night when Griff woke up.

So, here are some photos.

And here's a image they sent out in the newletter annoucing the winners, shows all of the stuff.

So, about school. My typography class was over last Friday. I was signed up for an Adobe Illustrator class, the only other Art and Visual Communications credit offered this summer that I haven't already taken or don't need. Well, went to class yesterday. There wasn't any room number or instructor on the computer. So we called UVSC to ask about it. They didn't know anything, but said the room number was 535. Well, it wasn't. That's someone's office. No one was there (the class was from 5:30-7:10) and there were 7 of us there, trying to figure out what was going on. Well, you have to have at least 12 students to go forward with the class and with only 7 of us, they probably cancelled it and didn't notify us. So, not only can I not take that class, but I'm left to find another non-AVC class to take or I won't get fincial aid or credit for last semester and I've already missed two days. I blow raspberries at UVSC.

I've been so tired this week

I'm just dragging. Guess I need to start exercising again. Anyway, the real point of this post is to share my layouts for June 3 and 4.

Oh yes, I am THAT crazy

I am doing another round of layout-a-day. Yes, for the month of June, I will finish a layout every day. I've been so busy lately that I miss scrapbooking and this will give me an extra push to take time to do it. Anyway, here's layouts from yesterday and today.

On a related note, I should get my package from scrapbook.com on Monday. I'm soooooooooooooo excited. As soon as it gets here, I'm going to call Melissa and we are going to go through it. I've seen a photo of everything that's in it, but it's not the same as actually looking through it. I'm sure I'll take photos and share.
