I was playing with Xander this morning and one of the things I like to do is pretend to eat him. Actually, this makes him sort of mad. Anyway, I have to laugh because I was pretending I was going to pretend to eat him and he looks at me and says, "I not a food. I not a food." That had me rolling!

We also had green pancakes last night, by Xander's request. He's such a hoot. I have no idea where he got the idea that you can color pancakes, but he loved eating them.

Happy 100th Birthday!

I meant to post this a few days ago, but I'm been so sick I haven't had the chance. I was feeling better Tuesday, which was my great-grandma's 100th birthday. She's still just a spunky and caring as I've always remembered her. In the past few years, she's slowed down a little, but not too much. She still lives at home, still makes fudge and practices her exercises on her walker. I really think she is too stubborn to die. She has 19 great-great-grandchildren. How amazing is that!?! Anyway, we went up to her party on Tuesday, and the she filled a whole stake-center cultural hall. Everyone loves her, because she is genuinely interested in you and completely unjudgemental. I've never heard her say an unkind word about anyone. The party was fun, although it would have been more fun if Jay and Melissa and Mom and Dad were there with us, but unfortunately, they couldn't get there until later.

Here's my great-grandma, sitting like a queen in her chair, greeting all her guests.

Beautiful Day

Every morning I get dragged out of bed by Xander and Maxton. They come into my room and this is how the conversation goes:

Xander: "Mommy, it's a BEAUTIFUL day."
Max: "Booful day."
Xander: "It's time to wake up, Mommy, cause it's a beautiful day."
Max: "Wake up. Booful day"
Xander: "You wake up, Mommy?"

This will be repeated until I get out of bed. I think Xander got this from me singing "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," but I'm not exactly sure. This has been going on for months now. I hate waking up at 7:15, but I love how they wake me up.

We've all been sick

So, all of us have been sick. I haven't been this sick in a long time. Friday I was achey and just felt gross. Then Saturday morning I had such a bad migraine that I couldn't even sleep. Poor David, I kept waking him up because I was in so much pain. He gave me a blessing and I felt a little better, no achiness, but still had a headache. I could sleep after that. Then yesterday my throat started hurting and today I have no voice. Xander keeps telling me, "Mommy, you can't talk." Yeah, pretty true. Anyway, we've all had variations of the same thing. BUT, my great-grandma's 100th birthday is on Tuesday and Madolin's 1st birthday, and they are having a pretty big party. They want each family to do a scrapbook page with a family photo on it! Well, that's right up my alley. We didn't really have a recent photo, since the one I used on our Christmas cards is on a CD that won't work (that's a whole other post), but we've all been sick. Finally, I figured I'd better get a move on, and I had Melissa come over today and take one, even though everyone is sick (except Griffin, he's totally over it except for a little cough). Anyway, here we are. Not too shabby, but I admit to heavily photoshoping puffy and red eyes! Oh, and I cut about 8 inches off my hair a month ago.

Griffin is four months!

Can you believe it! Anyhow, this calls for some new photos.

And of course, the other two couldn't be left out:
Xander's kissy face.

Max, he's so big already! And most of the photos I took had him sticking his tongue out.

All three. That's Xander's hair sticking up in the back--he won't let me comb it most days. He's about to get a buzz cut like his brother.
