Remember my good news?

Well, I can FINALLY spill it! I've had to keep quiet for three long weeks and I'm about to bust I'm so excited. When I found out, I called Melissa SCREAMING. I've never won anything this big before. The closest thing was the finalist spot in last years Memory Makers Masters contest. The prize is $1000 worth of supplies from some of my favorite companies--just amazing stuff! I still can't believe it! You can check out my layouts and the others who won at the link below. Congrats to everyone!

Know anyone getting married?

Yes, this is a shameless post to plug the new business David and I are starting. It's time to put these graphic design and photography skills to work. Anyways, if you know anyone getting married and needing invitations or engagement photos, send 'em my way. Here are some sample invitations I made using my adorable sister and brother-in-law Jay.

Whew, it is HOT here.

We've been have some lovely summer weather here. It's been so hot. I'm getting a nice tan and we've taken the boys outside to play in the water nearly every day this week. So, I guess it was time to give them summer haircuts. I was a little emotional about Xander's. For some reason, I was really attached to his long hair. I'll get over it though. Anyway, here's a photo of the boys trying out their new haircuts.

Wow, my dad left a comment!

I got a comment from my dad! Wow, that is so cool! Usually the only person to leave me comments is my li'l sis! He thinks I'm pregnant. Which I'm not. But it was a good guess, considering I usually am. :P

My ankles are almost better. Yes, after hobbling around, wounded, for almost two weeks, they are starting to feel normal. I probably would have been better sooner, but I reinjured myself in a wild games of Guesstures on Mother's Day. I was pretending to play ping-pong with myself. They guessed right, but I'm not so sure it was worth the 3 points. Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to get back to running soon. I really want to do a few 5K's and do them without so much suffering and without walking. That would be so awesome!

School is fun, but hard. I'm taking a typography class, which is super interesting, but it's also every day and only 5 weeks long. That thing moves so quickly! I spent most of yesterday trying to get Adobe Illustrator to work on our computer. It's like $200 to buy the Adobe package (and that's the super deep discounted student rate) and we just haven't done it yet. I can usually sneak by with just Photoshop, but we're required to do this particular project in Illustrator. I ended up stealing Melissa's lap top and doing it on her computer so I could download a trial version. I wish we could just buy it. I'd love to have the program anyway and if I'm going to really pursue graphic design, I should buy it.

Anyways, gotta run to the post office and to Costco. Here's a photo of me with the 3 little guys.

Please excuse my appearance. I can't remember the last time I had sleep. Griffin is still up a ridiculous amount at night. Usually 3 times total while I'm trying to sleep. I keep thinking I'll let him cry it out, but I feel so bad for him. He's getting 4 teeth all at once. I'm really just a big softy. Also, I always ask David how the lighting is and he always says it's good, no matter how ugly and double-chinned it makes me look. The boys are cute though! Look at them!

Well, since you asked. . .

So, someone asked what my great news was. I can't tell just yet. Maybe in a few more weeks. :)

I would write more, but got to put the kids in bed and try to finish some homework due tomorrow. Blech.

WELL! I HAVE SOME GREAT GREAT GREAT news. BUT I can't share just yet. I'll just say that I was screaming on the phone to my sister yesterday and I would have been jumping up and down, but I twisted both my ankles last Friday and then proceeded to run a 5K leg of a relay and hurt them both badly, I've been limping around for days, so no jumping for me. But this totally makes up for it.

Anyway, here's another anecdote about Griffin and his food. Yesterday, I got the kids spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. I left the room for a minute. Griffin was in his highchair after eating some (okay, two helpings of) rice cereal. He was happy, so I left him in there. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Here's a visual reference in case you are lost:

Yes, Maxton got sick of his spaghetti and passed it down the hierarchy of unwanted food. If Xander doesn't want something, it goes to Maxton, so naturally, Maxton assumes that if he doesn't want it, it should go to Griffin. And he's so casual about it too. Like, "Here Griffin, I don't want this enormous piece of garlic breadstick, would you like to nearly choke on it?" Guess my lessons in sharing have been learned all too well.

And yes, some of the noodles ended up in his mouth. Luckily, the meatballs were safe on his lap.
