This is exactly why I love my husband so much. I pointed out this necklace in passing the other day in a JC Penny's ad. All I said was that I love it. Well, he came home with it today! I still can't believe it. He's so kind and generous and he's fantastic at giving gifts. He always remembers when I say I like something.

Doing the happy dance because I love this necklace so much! Did I mention it's sterling silver and way more than I would ever spend if I was picking it out myself? Thank goodness he got a killer deal on it.

I love this photo. There are times when I'm so so so glad I have my camera out and ready and this was one of them. Last night, we went to Canyon Glen Park for a huge combined family home evening. Maxton was so glad to see Grandma--he ran to her and gave her a hug hug. But it was really this moment that says it all. You see, we were going back from the bridge to eat. Max started to run off with Xander and Hyrum. But then he noticed something. Grandma wasn't running with him. So, he ran back, caught her hand, and they ran off together. He was so happy to hold her hand and be with her. He's such a Grandma's boy; it's adorable. Once you are in Maxton's affections, you will never leave.  Posted by Picasa

FEET

Sometimes I wonder if I have any common sense. Seriously. For instance, after I picked up my kids from my mom's house on Friday, I walked home barefoot. My shoes were hurting my feet and I'd rather not pull a wagon piled high with children and various supplies I used to demonstrate how to make the clocks IN HEELS. So, I'm like, I have tough feet. I'll just walk across two roads and a long parking lot in 90 degree weather at 1:30 in the afternoon. No biggie. After going across the parking lot, I'm like, ouch my feet are starting to hurt. I must be scrapping them up. NOPE. WRONG. I have burns all along the bottom of my feet. Dur. Really didn't think that one through. A few of them are 2nd degree burns. Anyway, I'm going to be smarter next time. Blisters are better then burns.

BUT, in other feet news, Griffin took his first steps last night! Every so often, he will stand up on his own for a few seconds, but he wasn't doing it regularly or very long, so I thought it would still be quite a while before he took his first steps. David was helping him walk to me last night and then he let go. Griffin didn't realize it and made the last few steps on his own! I couldn't believe it! He's only just over 10 months. Xander and Maxton didn't take their first steps until around a year. I'm sure it will be a while before he's really walking, but he did take his first steps!

You can now watch me online :-P

I had so much fun doing my TV thing today. I was surprisingly calm and I had a lot of fun. The ladies of Good Things Utah were so very sweet and nice. The producer asked me to leave my number with her so she could call me directly for future segments. YAY!! I guess that means I did great! Everyone was oohing and ahhing over the clocks. My good friend, such a sweetie, Tammy Morrill (formerly Tammy Baird) came with me to lend some moral support and um, give me a ride. I also got to see her wonderful mom and family again. It's been something like 5 years since I last saw them. They are old friends from my Texas days and boy, it was so good to see them again, although the cute little toddlers I remember (Tammy's 3 little sisters) have grown into SUPERMODELS! Anyway, here's the link to the video if you would like to watch me. I watched it and I didn't hate it, although the 25 minutes I spent on my hair this morning was utterly wasted! Any who knew I talk like Snow White--especially when I'm nervous.

Off to be on TV

I'm heading off soon to be on Good Things Utah. If you want to catch me, I'll be on ABC channel 4 at 10:00 this morning. I'm nervous, but also excited. I love the things I'm demonstrating and excited for the oppertunity. And Dad, you're going to be on TV, since it's this clock I'm showing how to do:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Oh, and if you don't live in the Utah area, they are going to put a clip of it on the website, which is www.abc4/gtu.

I'd NEVER thought I'd say this, but. . .

I'M GOING TO BE ON TV. Yes, you heard me right, TV. I got a call yesterday from Jeri who works at Scrapbook Trends. I'm not sure how it got started, but they were in contact with a local morning show called Good Things Utah. They were planning to do a segment around Christmas time. Well, the producer called Jerri and asked if they could move it up. And Jeri called me and asked me if I would do it. Basically, what I'm going to do is demonstrate how to make a home decor project using scrapbook supplies. It's a 5-minute segment. I'm going on Friday the 18th. I'm a little nervous, but also excited!

So lately, Xander has been drawing a lot. He loves to draw on his "doodle" as he calls it. They have three between the two of them, so there is usually one around. He's getting pretty good. He will draw all kinds of people. On Tuesday, he was drawing spiders. He knows that spiders have 8 legs, but he's not the best at only drawing 8 legs. He wants them to fill up the space! So cute. I'm really proud of him, since my nephew Hyrum is a seriously talented artist at only 6 months younger than Xander and I was kind of sad that Xander didn't like to draw, since both David and I love artistic expression. Posted by Picasa

Some little boy funnies

Boy, my kids are so cute! Last night we got home from Grandma's house, after celebrating Melissa's birthday. I was putting Xander in bed and he looks up at me and says, "Grandma always says yes." Ain't it the truth? We need several days to recover from a trip over there. She can't say no.

Maxton is going through a lovely stage where he tells everyone, "Don't tell me what to do!" We got Xander trained. He will respond, "But Mommy's the boss. And Daddy too."

Oh, and another one from our recent family reunion. My oldest was asking his cousin how old she was. She said 5, then Xander comes back with, "Oh, that's a nice number." He's serious. He will also pray thanking Heavenly Father for individual numbers!

This morning, David left the carseats in the living room so I could give them a good cleaning. The boys were so excited to sit in them and watch a little TV. Except Max was grumpy. So, he asks me for some cereal. I ask him if he wants it in a bowl or a bag and he gets very huffy and says, "Noooooo, I don't want it in a bag! I want it in a carseat!" Oh dear, soooooo funny! He never would answer me, so he got it in a bag.

Scrapbooking stash challenge!

So, Melissa, Clarice, Tammy and I are doing a challenge to use up our humongo stashes of scrapbooking supplies. I feel seriously guilty about mine, even though I didn't buy most of it and I scrapbook all the time. It's really out of hand. Anyways, the challenge this week is to use Chatterbox paper and Making Memories embellishments. Here's mine. Hopefully I will get the chance to do another one. I used Chatterbox paper as the background and the metal word, the flowers, the washers are Making Memories. And yes, this layout is very Jamie Waters inspired. She's amazing. Posted by Picasa
