Just sharing some photos (and layouts)

This layout was done for my Paper Posies design team. Love the June kit! Then again, I love all their kits. :) Griffin is just so expressive, especially when he's upset. He's got a repertoire of sad faces.

This layout was from a photo taken a year ago; gosh, time just flies. I love it when the boys play together nicely. (You can click the layouts to make them larger.)

Griffin trying out some cold weather gear. I swear, he looks ready to rob a bank. He likes to wear it around and say, "Rarrr."

Max today. He made lots of goofy faces for the camera.

My sleeping angel, in an over-powering cloud of pink. What can I say, I love pink! She's also loosing her hair on top. We call this the "little old man" stage at our house. Pretty soon, she'll be totally bald. I love how she sleeps with her hands over her head. Max used to do the same thing.

It's the expressions. . .

So, I've said for a while now that Aubriana reminds me of Maxton as a baby. Not so much that she looks like him (although she does a bit), but that they make the same facial expressions. Here's what I mean. This is the photo I posted in the last entry. Here's a layout with a photo of Max making the exact same face. Max is chubbier, however.
There are other instances as well. Cracks me up!

In honor of her three weeks, some photos

Aubrey is three weeks today and of course, I had to take some photos of her. She is really hard to photograph. She's always making these funny faces when she's awake and she doesn't hold still at all. She's getting bigger every day and starting to fill out a little in the cheeks. She's so tall! Her clothes are starting to fit her better--they are still really baggy though! She eats all the time, but is doing pretty good at night; she's only up once, maybe twice and sleeps well in between. This makes me happy.

Photo 1: The three Henry cousins born within 5 months of each other. We were so excited to see Brayden this weekened for the first time!

Photo 2: Her cute little toes! They are long just like her fingers.

Photo 3: "Are you serious?"

Photo 4: She reminds me the most of Max. This photo is dead on the same expression of one of him around the same age!

Photo 5: The hungry face, which she is making right now!

Poor Dude (but he's all better now)

There are times when I think I'm crazy. For instance, last Friday David went on an overnight camp-out with the Young Men and I decided this was the perfect time to take all four children by myself to Carl's Jr for dinner and to play on their play place. Things went well until just before I was about to leave. Griffin came running to me, screaming and holding his arm. I didn't see what happened, he was running over to the play scape to watch his brothers, but he can't get up on anything by himself, so I assume he fell somehow. Well, I didn't think much of it, just held him while he cried. I was thinking he was just over tired. I gathered up the kids and tried to hand Griffin a drink, but he couldn't grab it and he wasn't moving his arm. He was still obviously upset and in a bit of pain. That is the worst feeling in the world. I didn't think his arm was broken, but something was not right, so I drove straight to the emergency room. With all four kids. By myself.

This is when I realized that I'd left my cell phone at home. I knew my mom was working a booth at the Orem Summerfest, my dad had had surgery on a hernia that day, Melissa was home, but her husband works nights and she couldn't leave her kids, so that left me to deal with everything. Once I realized that, we did OK. We were in the emergency room for almost two hours. Luckily, Aubriana didn't need to eat and a very sweet, college-aged girl offered to watch Maxton and Xander while I was in there. Truly an angel. They had so much fun with her, drawing Father's Day cards.

I felt just horrible. Griffin was so tired and in a lot of pain. They gave him some medication for it, and he fell asleep in my arms. I was having a hard time not crying myself. It was so hard to see him like that. He was so cute, he kept asking for Daddy, for Max and Xander and for Aubrey. He also liked it if I jiggled his foot. We played This Little Piggy to distract him, a much quieter version that we usually do.

They took X-rays of Griffin's arm and when the doctor came back, he said that the radiologist "thought" he could see a "buckle" in the bone of Griffin's wrist. So, it wasn't broken or fractured, but they didn't know exactly what had happened. They put a splint on his arm and we went home. They said if he started to use his arm in the next few days that he could take the splint off. He didn't use it for a while, but then he started to a little bit on Saturday afternoon. He still couldn't pick anything up with it, but he was at least moving the arm. He was amazingly good about keeping the splint on, until the last day. Actually, I thought we could have taken it off a bit earlier, but I wanted pictures.

Isn't he cute? I took the splint off this morning and so far, he seems fine. Whew. Kids are never boring. :)

She was two weeks yesterday

Aubriana is doing great. Yesterday she had her two week check up and she's just growing like crazy. She's actually starting to fill out her 0-3 month clothes. She's grown just over an inch and is now 21.6 inches long and she weighs just barely over 8 lbs. This is sort of funny to me though, because she's two weeks old and still isn't close to what Maxton was when he was born. This makes me very grateful to have been induced a week early.

She's doing pretty good at night. Last night wasn't so great, but generally she is only up twice and sleeps for large blocks of time otherwise. I think she is hitting her growth spurt that is supposed to happen around two weeks, because she's wanting to eat all the time. Last night she was up at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 wanting to eat. Finally after the 4:00 feeding, she went to sleep until 8:00 and I got some rest.

I'm feeling pretty good and the boys are doing well. A little more fighting than usual, but not too horrible. I'm sort of sad today, because it's David's last day to work from home and it's going to be hard to adjust to doing everything myself again. I can handle it, but I expect those first few days are going to feel long. Plus, I just like having him around. I can't get enough of him.

We also blessed her this past Sunday, but I'm going to do a separate post for that once I get the photos ready, but here are some photos I took yesterday.

Just wanted to pop on here to share a few photos. We are doing great. Yesterday was a hard day for me; gosh, I was just so tired and had a bit of a headache, but I'm feeling much better today. Aubrey is sleeping really well at night. She got up to eat three times last night, but then went right back to sleep and it feels sooooo good to get a few hours in a row. She's just such a good little baby. She's starting to really get aware of the things around her and focusing her eyes a bit more. She's also starting to fill out a little bit.

The boys just adore her. Maxton has really warmed up to her now and I just love seeing them all together. I got some photos printed yesterday at Costco and I can't wait to scrapbook them!

We are so spoiled!

Holy cow, if I'd known having a girl would bring out everyone I know, I would have done it sooner. ;) Seriously, people have been so kind to us and I'm so touched by everyone's generosity. My sweet Aunt Angie had my three rambunctious boys for two days and then brought them back to us (a two hour drive). Two of my other aunts came down with her--that's them on the right, Angie, Darla and Judy, aren't they gorgeous?--and they cleaned my house so that when I got home from the hospital, it was clean, down to a wet kitchen floor! I can't tell you how nice that was. Then, the ward has been bringing in meals. I've actually never had anyone do that for me with a new baby before, and we are stocked up. I won't have to go grocery shopping until late next week, what with leftovers, and I won't have to cook until then either, not that I cook much. My aunts also stocked up the freezer before they left and my sweet neighbor who lives upstairs and is getting married this week too the time to bring us a freezer meal too, complete with fresh rolls, juice and a salad. My good friend Clarice dropped off a care package, filled to the brim with girly scrapbook supplies and candy (yum!). My former Young Woman's leader brought us dinner, a gift for the baby and an embossing template for my Cuttlebug (ok, word is out that I'm scrapbook obsessed!). My aunt also brought a gift, the cutest little outfit and a doll for Aubrey. I feel totally spoiled.

My parents got home from Hawaii this morning and after being up all night on the plane, they stopped by to see Aubriana before heading home to bed. Oh, it was so nice to see them and I know they were anxious to see their 6th grandchild. Mostly we just sat around, staring at her. She's just so delicate. Everything about her is dainty. She has the tiniest little bum I've ever seen; the hospital sent us home with preemie diapers because she's so small! They don't hold very much at all, and she's an eater, so she wets through them so quickly. I have to be careful to change her before I feed her. Anyway, my parents looked tired, but it sounded like Hawaii was a blast. I can't wait to hear more about their trip.

Lots of people have asked how the boys are adjusting; I'm surprised at how well they are doing. We've had a little more crankiness than normal (probably the result of having WAY too much fun at Aunt Angie's house), but they love their sister. Xander wants to hold her all the time and show her his toys, and he's been pretending to have a baby that's his. He keeps asking me to feed her (his pretend baby), since we've also been having lots of conversations about breastfeeding. Max is indifferent, pretty much. He likes her, but he has his own life, but he'll stop to talk to her if he notices we're holding her. He also says her name so cutely! I love how he says it, very precise, but still such a little boy voice. Griffin is the one that's surprised me the most. I thought we might have some jealousy issues with him. Yep, we do. He doesn't want us to hold her; he wants to hold her! He calls her "my baby, 'Nana" and wants to hold her and touch her and give her binkis all the time. It's pretty cute.

I'm hanging in there. I'm determined to take it easier with this one and so far I have. David's been great. In fact, he's at the park with Xander and Maxton playing T-ball right now, so I can rest while Griffin and Aubriana are sleeping. I'm mostly just tired. After Griffin was born, I was covered in bruises, but hers was a pretty easy delivery. I'm mostly just tired, especially since I'm not getting hardly any sleep at night. She's a really mellow baby though, she doesn't get upset--the most I've heard from her is one protesting squawk at a time! She's just an angel.
