Xander's Birthday

I can't believe my little boy is five already! Cliche, but true. He's growing into such a little man.

He's really into dinosaurs right now, so his party was a dinosaur theme. Here are a few photos.

I made the cake. Apparently, I was under the impression that a stegosaurus and a brachiosaurus needed a love child. Oh well, Xander loved it, despite that fact that it was nowhere near anatomically correct for a stegosaurus. Live and learn.

After pizza and cake and ice cream, we went to Chuck E. Cheese, which the boys loved. Aubriana was so cute even, she was just entranced with everything and smiling the whole time before falling asleep on Grandpa's lap. We even scored 798 tickets, a record for us, almost all won by David and me on one very fun game, which involved tracing your finger along a path before the time ran out. Good times.

Quick Photo Share

Just some recent photos.

In the one of me and David, I'm wearing the shirt that he bought for me a few weeks ago. Cute, isn't it? :)

Xander's Art

Xander got a new box of crayons today and that is what he drew. I'm pretty impressed. The first is Pengu (a TV character who is a penguin), the second is a snail and a radio playing music and the third is "Barney and Friends" of course.

He's also keeping an accurate countdown of days until his 5th birthday. Today there are four more days, as I've heard several times. He has invited lots of people to his party, including my friend Natalie, my visiting teachers and his primary teacher. Never mind that we are only doing a family party this year! :P

Asleep On His Feet

I used to think this was just an expression, but apparently, not.

Griffin was asleep in this position. We'd gone to the park twice that day, once to exercise with my mom and the other time to play with Hyrum and Maddy. He got home and asked for his binki, but he didn't want to go to bed; he was watching TV when he fell asleep in this position. He was so out that he barely moved at all when I laid him in bed. Poor little guy!

We're pretty much the same around here

We're just putting along as usual lately. Griffin has become less of a terror (although he was sick yesterday). In fact, because he's sick, I've been enjoying him sleeping a lot more. The obvious downside to this is that I have to clean up puke. Actually, it's not that bad of a trade off. He's feeling better today, but this morning, he got up after sleeping for 13 hours (yay!) at 6:30 (not yay). However, as soon as David left for work, he came and crawled into bed with me and fell asleep again (awwww). He took a nap in there the other day while I was reading. If he does it again, I'll make sure to get a photo. I would have gotten one this morning, but I was too tired after getting up with Aubrey two times and the light wasn't great and my camera battery is dead.

Anyway, here are so photos from last week at the Discovery Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. This is what we did for Labor Day.

Two Layouts

These are my last layouts for the Paper Posies team. It just makes me so sad to think they are all going on without me, but I also know that the time is right. I had so much less stress this last month and last week I actually did FIVE layouts in a row that weren't for assignments. I can't remember the last time I did that much scrapbooking just for fun. I'm sure it's been over a year. It was so fun and I really loved the layouts I did.

She's so beautiful!

After trying for weeks, I finally got a picture that really captures what I see when I look at my baby girl. She is really hard to photograph--she moves all the time and she makes the silliest faces, and while I appreciate a little of that, I wanted to capture her purity and her innocence. She is just the sweetest thing. She is so calm, except when something is bothering her, like her milk allergy. She is so sensitive. For instance, if I'm feeding her and Griffin is getting into something, I'll yell at him and she will stop, scrunch up her face and cry a little in protest.

Here she is on my Aunt LuAnn's lap while we were camping last week.
