Jewelry Making Time!

Ok, I am loving this new hobby. I'm going to have to really use some self control to get my scrapbooking assignments done. Yikes.

Anyway, I've learned tons in the past few days and here are a few of the pieces I've made. I'm going to need a new storage system for my jewelry soon. :)

A Beautiful Christmas

I am so filled with the Christmas spirit, even the day after. We had a truly beautiful Christmas. We were able to go to David's brother's house last Saturday, where we enjoyed pizza, football and a white elephant gift exchange. It was pretty funny stuff. Griffin ended up with a George W. Bush mask. I'll have to take pictures of him in it sometime.

Christmas Eve we spent having fondue at my parent's house. It was the first time in a while that all of our family was under the same roof. I forget how much I miss my two younger brothers until they show up. I just love being around them and they really spice up our conversations.

I didn't sleep much on Christmas Eve, with all four of the kids in the room with us. I kept expecting Aubriana to wake up and want to eat and since there was no clock in the room, I had no idea what time it was. Plus, I made the mistake of wearing long-sleeved pj's and I was too warm. The bed was comfy though!

We woke up Christmas morning to Xander going to sneak upstairs to see if Santa had come. He'd gone maybe five steps before David popped out of bed and stopped him. I got some pictures of my little Christmas Prison Cons/Candy Canes before we headed upstairs. Then the kids spent some time looking at what Santa brought. I took these pictures, then didn't pick up my camera again until afternoon.
Then late morning, we drove to Ogden to see my great grandma who is 101. We were lucky to get there without any mishaps; we saw a total of 4 wrecks on the way there. We really enjoyed visiting with her and eating all the yummy food, including my favorite rolo cookies. YUM!

Aubriana had fun too! She is so happy. She's started doing this thing where she nods, very enthusiastically if you ask her a question. Her whole body gets involved. It's so cute.

And lastly, a picture of her snug in her car seat, ready to go home.I got tons and tons of beading stuff, which is so exciting! I've already made three pairs of earrings, a necklace and a bracelet. This is going to be addicting! :)

Christmas Funny

The kids only know one Christmas song. Feliz Navidad. Lucky me. Actually, it's kinda cute when Griffin sings "Fleas Mommy-Dad."

Anyway, we were in church last week, singing the opening song. Max had his hymn book on this lap, singing right along. The song ends, Maxton is still singing "I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas! I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas!" It was well into the prayer before I could get him to stop.

The primary pres was sitting right behind us and she later told me she thought it was hilarious!

Maxton's Birthday

Wow, what a crazy month it's been. When I haven't been scrapbooking, I've been making a cake or doing Christmas activities or birthday parties. It's been fun, but crazy.

Last Saturday was Maxton's 4th birthday. He was the most excited I've ever seen him. You should have seen him tearing through those presents! Christmas is going to be a blast this year. He got a Big Wheel, a floor puzzle, a set of scriptures, a Batman movie and a cool set of books, projecter and music player all of Disney stories.

In the picture at the top he is showing us how old he is. Dixie and Rick were there and they were teaching him how to put his thumb down. He got it eventually. Then I asked him to show me how old he was so I could take a picture, it was right back to holding down his pinky! Silly kid.

Here are some pictures:Sorry for the excess of pictures of his cake, but I spent a long time on it, dang it! and I want to show it off. I think I spent about 30 hours making it. It was very good though and the kids were crazy for it!Opening presents!

Singing Happy Birthday. He was so happy it was finally his turn to have a birthday.

And a cute one of Aubriana thrown in for good measure. Love this hat!

Our December Craft Project

So, a few weeks ago I saw some adorable trees on 2peas. I knew right off that I wanted to make some, so I talked my mom and my sister into joining me. I had no idea what a time consuming project it would become though! We worked like 6 hours to make them all (we each made a set of 3). Finally got together again yesterday to finish them up. I cut the stars from chipboard on the Cricut Expression--that is just so cool to be able to do! They are also glittery, it's kind of hard to see in the photograph.

To make them, I cut 1" wide strips of Making Memories pattern paper, then cut those into 3" lengths, looped them and hot glued them, then working from the bottom up, hot glued them onto a styrofoam cone. Then I cut two stars for each tree out of chipboard, glued them on either side of a toothpick, then painted them and added the glitter, then stuck them on the tops of my trees.

I think they turned out so cute! We each used a different kind of pattern paper, and all three sets are such our own personal style.
