He's Catching Up

I took this photo of Maxton and Xander the other day after they went swimming. It totally cracks me up. They are built so differently, and they are both so stinkin' cute. Maxton now weighs more than Xander! Well, you can see where he keeps it! He has such a big belly and such a little bum that it's a wonder his pants stay up at all! Xander has the same problem, but for the opposite reason. He's so skinny everywhere they that won't stay up. Griffin is built like a beanpole, just like his oldest brother. I love looking at the similarities and differences in my kids. It's amazing to think they all came from the same two people.

Almost everytime we go out as a family, people ask if Max and Xander are twins. I can understand it. Max is pretty big for his age and Xander is about average. But it does get a little old to explain every time that they are 14.5 months apart. So, I told David I'm just going to start saying yes. Much simplier that way. Except that I can't make myself do it. I still go through the whole explaination! Posted by Picasa

Some fantabulous, fabtastic WONDERFUL news (x2)!

For the lesser of the two, Xander actually went #2 in the potty today. Twice. It's a miracle. Really amazing!!!!!!! I still can't believe it and I'm crossing my fingers that he keeps it up.

For the other piece of news, DAVID GOT A JOB! Not just any job--a really great one that I think he will enjoy and that pays more than what we were hoping to find, especially in Utah. I'm so grateful. We truly followed the Lord; he is blessing us. When David quit his last job, it was a true leap of faith. We had no idea why the Lord wanted us to do it, but we were certain it was the right thing. Looking back, we have learned to lean on Him, to trust Him and to follow our dreams. We have learned to trust each other and grown so close. We have been humbled and taught. I hope that we can hold on to the lessons we have learned.

We just got back from the Henry family reunion at Lake Tahoe. I'll have more about that later and I'll post some photos.

I've got a TOOT!

As in, I'm going to toot my own horn. I got an email from a very nice lady who owns a kit club called Back Porch Memories, asking if I was interested in joining her design team. After talking to her for a while, working out the details, I'm on her design team!! Whahoooooo!! I'm so excited! I love designing for kit clubs and hers is so cute! August will be my first month. You can check out her kits at backporchmemories.com .

I'm sorry I haven't been updating often. I'm just so crazy busy right now. I've had a lot of work to do for Scrapbook Trends, some projects that are going to be in this year's holiday book (I think they are calling it "'Tis the Season"). Anyway, I just did 5 projects for them, which is sort of crazy to do in three days, especailly because I'm not the fastest scrapper in the world and one of the days was a Sunday (I'm okay with scrapping on Sundays, but not getting paid to do it on Sundays). BUT, I had a lot of fun.

We are going to leave this week for David's family reunion. Unfortunately, his grandmother passed away this past weekend and we're going to go out early for her funeral. I'm going to have a crazy day tomorrow, trying to get ready. We need to be all packed tomorrow night, and before that I need to finish some things for Scrapbook Trends, take a test, do some reading, do some church things, send some emails. And I'd like to get the house half-way clean. I'm not a very good housekeeper. I hate cleaning.

Bags

So, this is what I've been up to lately. I was put in charge of a Super Saturday activity for the Activity Day girls at our church and this is one of the projects we're doing--scripture bags. I made it out of old jeans and 1/2 yard fabric and a bunch of things I usually use for scrapbooking. It was so much fun to sew again and I think I might be doing some more of it. I also have a slight obsession with bags. I love tote bags. I love purses. I even like diaper bags. Yeah, I love bags of all kinds and it's so much fun to decorate your own. Posted by Picasa
