Update on the last few weeks

Wow, it's been a while since I updated my blog. I've been so busy this week doing scrapbook assignments and taking care of the children that things have just been crazy. David also had his wisdom teeth out two weeks ago and is just getting back to normal. I got sick that same week, but luckily, it turned out to be short lived. We also been without a car for nearly two weeks now. Our check engine light was on and they can't figure out what the heck is wrong with the dang car. Yeah, talk about annoying. We've been stuck at home mostly.

Aubriana is doing great. She's smiling quite often now (mostly at Daddy) and I was delighted to hear her laugh yesterday. Such an amazing sound! She's also growing out of her 0-3 month clothes, not around but long! All her pants look like capris but are just now fitting her around the waist. It's a good thing they make adjustable waist pants now, because we're going to need them. She is built like Griffin--when he started walking, his pants would just fall off because he was too skinny.

I also had the opportunity to go to a great workshop on communication. My mom has been trying to get me to go, but it just never worked out until now. She took the kids while David was gone on a business trip and she paid with some gift certificates she had. My brother Jake went too and it was a wonderful bonding experience. It also got me thinking of what I really want in my life. My family life is so blessed, but I feel unfilled in other ways. After a lot of thought, I think I want to write children's books, a dream I had when I was younger (around 6th grade). I feel so excited about this; I've got tons of ideas, even a rough draft started. To that end, this is my last month on the Paper Posies' design team, a gig I've had for over two years. It's really hard to say goodbye, but I really want to have time to pursue this. I've done a lot of telling stories to my children in my scrapbooks and I will always do that, but I'm not sure I want to spend so much time doing it professionally. I will miss everyone there. It is such a wonderful place to work for and their kits are out of this world.

And, to finish off, a few photos:Trying to eat her brother.

The closest I've gotten so far to capturing her smile.

  2. Sorry about your cars. Two of ours dropped dead this month, due to the heat and other lovely problems. One is fixed and the other is in the shop. Oh, how I count on those dumb cars. ;)
