Griffin is here!!

I just thought I would share some of the details. I started having contractions on Sunday afternoon around 4:00, really timable 5 minutes apart, but not too painful. They started kind of hurting around 8:00 and we debated going to the hospital, because I was induced a week late with my first two, and I still had 6 days until my due date. Well, we finially went and I was still at a 1 and not effaced hardly at all. They had us walk around for an hour, and the contractions started being 3 minutes or so apart and really painful. She checked me again and there wasn't any change. So, they gave me a morphine shot and sent me home. I had contractions about 5 minutes apart for the rest of the night, and the morphine didn't help much. I hardly got any sleep and towards the morning I was in a lot of pain. We went back to the hopital around 6:30 when I couldn't stand it any more. They checked me and I was at a 5 and about 80% effaced! I really couldn't believe we were going to stay--at best I was hoping I still wasn't a 1. I got my epidural around 8:00 finially, and made pretty steady progress for there on out. They think he was posterior for most of the labor, because it went really slowly and because of the way his head was all bent out of shape. I believe it, because the contractions were really painful in my back before the epidural. I pushed him out in two contractions (after Maxton being 9 lbs 3 oz, Griffin was a piece of cake), and he had a little trouble with fluid in his lungs, but that cleared up pretty quickly. I didn't even tear, which is soooooo nice.

I'm feeling really great and glad to be home. Griffin David was 7 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches long. He's a pretty quiet little guy, I've barely even heard him cry. He looks a lot like his brothers, but more like my side of the family in the nose and mouth I think. He's pretty squashed and bruised though, but still dang cute.
