More Photos from My Over-scheduled Summer

I'm going to have to reassess my evaluation of myself as a person who isn't very busy. This summer has been the most intense of my life. I have never tried to have so much fun in so little time. Note previous posts about Disneyland and Arches, plus all the little things, like a movie every week with my sister, craft day every week, hanging out with friends more, playing baseball for the older two boys, and then there are still four more majorish trips we have planned for this summer. Zion, Yellowstone, another family reunion and climbing Mt. Nebo. I swear, this is turning into a travel blog. Sorry, I swear I'll stop after the summer is over.

In the past few weeks, we went to David's family reunion. His parents and all their eight children, their spouses and then all the grandchildren gather every other summer--the only time we are all in the same spot. It's an event.

Some of my favorite pictures from the week:

Cherries!

two beautiful cherries, Royal Ann or corum cherries, reminds me of the Pac man video game cherries when they are connected like this

This weekend, we've been picking cherries. The cherries on our huge cherry tree out back have ripened this weekend. This is our first year of harvesting cherries. Last year, the first year in our new house, the bugs and birds got to the them. This year, we were more prepared.

We are eating them fresh (I don't like them fresh, but I'm a strange anomaly when it comes to food), drying them in a food dehydrator, and making jam. So far, my sister and I have made 15 jars of jam. They are sweet cherries; we think they are, more specifically, corum cherries or maybe Royal Ann.

She's so beautiful!

After trying for weeks, I finally got a picture that really captures what I see when I look at my baby girl. She is really hard to photograph--she moves all the time and she makes the silliest faces, and while I appreciate a little of that, I wanted to capture her purity and her innocence. She is just the sweetest thing. She is so calm, except when something is bothering her, like her milk allergy. She is so sensitive. For instance, if I'm feeding her and Griffin is getting into something, I'll yell at him and she will stop, scrunch up her face and cry a little in protest.

Here she is on my Aunt LuAnn's lap while we were camping last week.

Just sharing some photos (with the inevitable commentary)

Griffin, why does he have that binki in his mouth? He supposed to only use one while sleeping. I started this hose-fight. It was hot!Xander, spraying the hose. Notice how he's not even looking at the water. :)
Griffin and Max splashing in the puddle on the sidewalk that always forms just right there. Usually, we try to avoid it.
Griffin looking quite pleased with being wet. Also notice Xander running away in the background.
She's waving hi in this one. Also, there are spit bubbles. She's getting drooly and likes to lick thinks, like shirt shoulders and forearms. If I hold her facing outward, I get copious amounts of drool down my arm. But isn't she sweet? We're thinking she'll probably have blue eyes, but more like the gray-blue of Maxton's.
Maxton, looking quite pleased with himself. My SIL said that in this photo, he looks like the Henry side and I agree. Such a handsome dude!
Aww, she is just so cute! She's getting cubby. I love this blanket my MIL made for her. She really thinks the camera is bizarre. Everytime I get it out, she looks at it like it's some alien object, which I'm sure it is to her.
Here are Griffin and Maxton. After a spell of hating to have his picture taken, he has lapsed into wanting his picture taken all the time, usually with Griffin or Aubriana.

Happy Fourth (a day late)

We had such an enjoyable time over the Fourth. We went up camping in Blacksmith Fork Canyon and the boys had a blast! They were sooooo dirty the whole time. Anyway, here are a few photos from our adventure.

Grandma and Xander floating down the river in a tube. All the grandkids (except Aubriana of course) got a turn and they just loved it!

Griffin and Maddy in the pool. This is about what they did the whole time while in the pool. I don't think one kid sat down.

Daddy and Griffin. Griffin is sooooooo dirty.

Aubrey asleep on Aunt Melissa's bump. Aunt Melissa fell asleep too. Too cute! I just love this photo.

Maxton looking a bit like Bert from Sesame Street. He got dirt in his normally blonde eyebrows and it was pretty funny. They don't show up as well in the photo as they did in real life.

A photo of Aubriana on the changing table. She is just always in motion; it's hard to get good shots of her. Just before this, she smiled at me. Her thighs are positively chunky compared to a few weeks ago.

Looking a bit confused.

Awww, she's getting so big! It's going too fast.
